How to earn the respect of men:

If your site adds support for FIDO U2F, but requires an alternate second factor auth to be present then your site didn’t really add support for U2F.

The whole point of the standard is improved unphishable security, it doesn’t work if anyone can just fall back to sms/google authenticator and then you didn’t improve anything. I’m looking at you, Twitter.
